You might ask me why you should participate, and all I can respond is, “why NOT?” SBS has grown significantly in its short history. The event’s main sponsor, American Express, estimated that shoppers spent $5.5 billion on Small Business Saturday in 2012. If that number isn’t enough, you can check out SBS’s over 3 million facebook fans.

 

Since most small businesses rely heavily on local customers, it’s a great opportunity to get your business out there, and to reach those in your local community. There are plenty of people out there ready to show their support for the businesses in their neighborhood. And they want to reinvest in their own communities.

Participating drives more people to your business. The shop-small website gives you great tips and resources, as well as, providing consumers with a search tool so they can find what businesses are participating in their areas.

Getting involved is easy:

  • It’s also suggested that you have a special offer or promotion. That added promo gives the local customers even more incentive to stop in on SBS.
  • Use social media & local advertising to spread the word.

Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity to reach your customer base, and help drive sales for the rest of the year. And remember to show em why they should always shop with you!
